NEW LUCK SYSTEM
We've reworked the Luck stat to give it a meaningful impact on perk rolls and item crafting quality. Here's how the new system works:
How Luck Affects Perk Rarity
When a perk is rolled, it now considers all tiers (Tier 1 to Tier 5), with base chances that look like this:
Tier 1: 100% weight
Tier 2: 75% weight
Tier 3: 50% weight
Tier 4: 30% weight
Tier 5: 10% weight
Your Luck increases the chance of higher tiers by applying a multiplier. Here's how it works:
Luck Boost = 1 + (√Your Luck ÷ 10)
That boost gets stronger for higher-tier perks. For example, a Tier 5 perk benefits more from the boost than a Tier 2.
So if you have Luck 100, the boost would be:
1 + (√100 ÷ 10) = 1 + (10 ÷ 10) = 2x boost
Each tier’s weight is then multiplied by that boost (more for higher tiers), which increases your chance to roll rarer perks. However, there’s a soft cap at around Luck 150, where the boost begins to slow down so it doesn't scale forever.
How Luck Affects Set Perk Rolls
Set Perks (the special, themed ones) now have a base chance of 2.5% to appear when perks are rolled. That chance increases with your Luck like this:
Set Perk Chance = 2.5% + (√Luck ÷ 10 × 0.5%)
Examples:
Luck 0 → 2.5%
Luck 100 → 3.5%
Luck 300 → ~4.7%
Again, a soft cap ensures the chance doesn’t grow too fast and keeps Set Perks feeling special.
How Luck Affects Item Quality
Luck now also helps when crafting items, improving your chances of getting higher-quality gear. Here's the base chance for each quality:
Worn: 30%
Crafted: 25%
Refined: 20%
Superior: 15%
Exquisite: 7%
Perfect: 3%
Luck increases the weight of higher qualities gradually. It gives more of a boost to better tiers, but doesn’t completely eliminate the lower ones.
We also added a hard cap on Perfect quality:
Perfect gear can never exceed a 10% chance, no matter how much Luck you stack.
This keeps Perfect items rare and exciting, while still making them more accessible to players who focus on Luck.
Summary
Luck boosts your chance to roll higher-tier perks and better item quality.
It uses a square root formula so early Luck has strong value, but scaling slows over time.
Set Perk chance and Perfect Quality are capped to keep rewards rare but fair.
The system is live and already affecting crafting, perks, and your item progression.
